Snowboarding in St. Anton

Place: St. Anton, Austria

Writer: Joel Arnkvist

We had a really nice day today here in St. Anton although I slept on madras that had not given me much sleep, borrowed from a nearby hotel. When I came outside after eating a porridge-breakfast with some artificial jam I got so blinded by the sunlight it was hard not to feel awake. The spring weather right now here in St. Anton is like midsummer in Sweden. The high temperature is taking its toll on the snow which melts into small brooks all over the mountain.

The trees in the valley are also starting to shift from bare winter skeletons to green dresses. Another thing that´s happening is that all the winter shops in the village are starting to close and are left empty waiting for the next winter season.
